Hall and Wright Builders was contacted to help design an all-green community, Lennon Hills. The goal of the project was to design homes that would be at once functional, aesthetically pleasing, energy efficient and healthy to live in – all while saving the homeowners money in utility costs and maintenance. On first glance, a casual onlooker would not be able to tell the difference between this house and a traditionally built house. However, these homes, constructed using the newest technologies available in home building and built with a whole house system approach are 60% or more energy efficient than a typical home of the same size. As an added bonus, each detail and design has been inspected not only by the local building inspectors but also earned approval from Energy Star and received a Gold rating from the National Association of Home Builders. Lennon Hills homes incorporate innovative building materials, cutting edge design and the latest in construction techniques for more energy-efficient, healthy and durable homes that don’t sacrifice style. Home designs feature kitchens with ENERGY STAR appliances, recycled-content cabinetry, natural daylighting throughout the house, environmentally friendly hardwood flooring, carpeting, beautiful moldings and tray ceilings. Structural features include structural insulated panels (SIPS) which increase the energy efficiency and the strength of the home, VOC-free adhesives and paint, renewable environmentally friendly floors and carpeting, quartz countertops with Microban antimicrobial surfacing, LED lighting, native drought- resistant landscaping, a whole-house air filtration system and a high-efficiency 16 seer heat pump. An integrated control panel in the wall lets you monitor energy usage at all times, so it's easy to understand the effect of the sustainable features of the homes when you receive your energy bill. Based on current estimates, the average Lennon Hills home will consume as much as 60% less power, 40% less water, and 60% less heating and air conditioning than a ordinary home.
These modern, energy efficient homes start at just $229,000 for Townhomes and $299,000 for Single Family Homes.
